Day 29 Lousy weather. Windy, rainy: No flying today. However, Roger had brought a new computer to run X-Plane, which is a gyro simulator. Steve Scally set it all up. Slight problem with the rudder pedals he had quickly knocked up to get the function working, but they didn't want to work with this setup. Roger had a set on order anyway so solution is in hand.
Steve had set up a VPM lookalike, and Carlisle Airport. It all seemed to function correctly. A little difficult to control with no rudder pedals! Should be useful in getting people used to the function of the controls, and hopefully for students to overcome wrong and/or slow feet. |
