Day 33

0900 at the airport. Pulled out India Oscar and Miss Yellow Tail. Both pre-flighted and ready to go.

Brief was to build on yesterday for both of us. First off down 07, up to 100 feet and into wide S turns down the runway, and again, and again... S's getting wider, and gently back on myself. Not quite figure of 8's... I did feel that the turns were not quiet right as I could feel a slight slip into the turn. 1 hour of those and very good progress. Time for Tea!!!

Afternoon runs: Going to get those 8's. Up to 100 feet, turn right and away from the runway. Turn left 180 degrees and head towards the forested area. 180 to the right and back again. More rudder this time which makes the turns feel better. Quite a few of those, finishing with a descending turn to runway centre line and land. Landing flair slightly flat, so next run lower the nose even more on landing, 40 mph, and much better. And again, further out on each turn and back across the runway. Great this, could spend all day doing this, but Chris waiting to go, so another descending turn to centre line and land.

Chris taking it a little more tentatively, but progressing well. We had to slot around other traffic but not too much of an inconvenience to others. Roger doing the ATC liaison kept things seperated.

Now this was a brilliant session for me. Figure of 8's with good turns, speed and height control. Log book signed with "ready for circuits": Hopefully tomorrow! Get used to higher 8's and then into the circuit...

Chris has a little more work to do on his turns but should get into circuit soon: Must remember to centralise his stick correctly once turn is initiated...

Typical: No one to take the pictures...
